Success!

I managed to get Windows Vista Beta 1 and OS X for Intel dual-booting on the same hard disk.

My computer at work is now ridiculously 1337.

Is the Intel v. of OS X just a direct port of 10.3?

Actually it's a port of 10.4.1. Everything that comes with the OS is compiled for Intel, but it can still run PowerPC applications using Rosetta.

What sort of system are you running it on and have you done any benchmarking?

It's on a 3 GHz Pentium 4 with 1 GB of memory and a GeForce 6600 video card (although OSX only recognizes it as a generic VESA card, so no acceleration.) I haven't done any formal benchmarking, but native applications are snappy and PowerPC applications run at acceptable speeds. Unfortunately Adium crashes about once a day and the system boots properly only about 1 in 3 times, but considering this is beta software running on a non-Apple-approved system, it runs very well.

Not a bad setup. Too bad about the video card. I think I'm going to bug you more about it as the experiment progresses.
